CSA Concept

CSA, or Community Supported Agriculture, is a way to establish a more direct relationship between the farmer and consumer.  In this model, one becomes a member by purchasing a share of seasonally grown vegetables for weekly pick-up from June through October.


CSAs benefit both the farmer and member in several ways:

  • The member enjoys the convenience and freshness of a product that was picked, washed, packed and delivered all on the same day!
  • Members can feel good about supporting a local and sustainable buisness.
  • Emailed weekly newsletters provide insightful information about the farm life along with recipes using ingredients featured in the week's box.
  • There may be opportunities to visit the farm where your food is grown during member events such as potlucks and farm tours.
  • It gives the farmer the ability to offset the financial commitment. Each season, there are many upfront costs including the seeds, machinery, and other supplies months before the first crops are harvested.
  • It helps the farmer plan for the upcoming season.
  • CSAs provide the means for family farms to stay economically viable

Memberships are still available for Sunbeam's 2018 Summer CSA.   Receive twenty weeks (for a full share) or ten alternating weeks (for a half share) of beautiful, delicious certified organic vegetables delivered to your choice of five locations.  The Summer CSA will begin on May 31, 2018 and run until October 11.  Questions?
